Really bad burn!?

Question:
I burnt my two fingers on a hot-plate really bad and I have had it under cold water for like almost two hours and now it's in a bucket of water next to me and it kills. I tried to take them out and put vaseline but the pain was unbearable so I had to put them back under water really quick. What else can I do? I cant do this all night!!

Answers:
Try mustard. I know it sounds dumb but the mustard seed takes the heat out of the burn. Put some on your fingers and let it sit for a few minutes, reapply as needed.

Other Answers:
go to the emergency room

call the doctor That is exactly what you are going to have to do. And use neosporin not vaseline on them.

did you go to the docter??

Dip them in pickle juice. (Seriously.)

put vitamin e jel on it it really helps

my neigbor had a burn on her boob it was bad she put the crap on there and it was better

All you can do is keep it on ice. Your finger tips are the most sensitive part of your body (due to the amount of sensory nerve endings) and feel extreme pain. Ice will help numb them. If they are burned that bad, you may need to see a doctor.

Put ice in the water, it will stop the burning sensation. if it's that bad you might need to go to the emergency room,I know you don't want to, but it could be 2ND or 3rd degree burns.

Life Don't put vaseline on it til the heat feeling subsides.that's like adding oil to a frypan! Try an ice-pack, and if it doesn't settle down, go to the doctors or hospital.

Vaseline or other greasy products are not in my opinion recommended. The cold water is best but Aloe Vera can be helpful

go to http://www.webmd.com and see if there is anything there to help.Good Luck!

DO NOT put vasaline or neosporin on the burn. It hurts so bad because you have damaged all the nerve endings and believe it or not the burning probably hasn't stopped. (it's still cooking). If you put petroleum jelley or anything greasy like that on it, it will seal in all the burning. Get all that stuff off of there and what you are doing is about the only thing you can do for the pain. When you are able to keep it out of the water, dry it off real good and wrap your fingers in clean dry steril dressing. As with any burn the biggest enemy is infection. Keep it dry and DO NOT burst blisters. You really need to go to the E.R. and get it tended to. Good luck.
P.S. A little wives tail...mustard is supposed to take the fire out. Don't know though never tried it. I feel for you, I did the same thing. What u need to do is put ice in the bucket of water for a couple of hours. It really helps. Don't use vaseline it just smothers the skin so that it cant breathe. I recommend some burn creame and a trip to the ER.
