Should voluntary youthenasia be made legal in the UK?

If a person has lost every shred of dignity and wants to go, why shouldn't they be allowed? We put animals down for less. If it is supervised by at least 3 or 4 independent doctors who have decreed the person able to make up their own mind, should they be allowed to go in a quick, painless and dignified way?

Euthanasia?

Yes. I think it should be legal. With restrictions. You just can't decide to kill yourself because you are depressed. Has to be a terminal condition where treatment has failed...then yes.

yes i have just watched a documentary on people dying from rabies. it is a death sentence with no cure. it is so pain full and a horrible death. after watching this i agree it was what i kept saying all the way through.

Yes, but one has to observe the legalities to, or there would be a lot of elderly being PUT DOWN simply for being old, or maybe not so good parents, or with lots of dosh, and the relatives can not be bothered to wait?!?! But yes, when they can put animals to sleep when in pain and without hope, it only makes sense doesn't it.

Yes. Isn't it funny (haha) how so many people in the UK think the same things, such as that euthanasia should be legalised, and the government just ignores us? (Ditto Iraq war). I think that if you have a terminal illness, you should be allowed to chose to die. Why shouldn't we? If its your life, you should be allowed to chose what to do with it, including when and how to end it.
