Answers:
I just got my contacts yesterday and put them in last night, had them in for four hours. The optometrist gave me lenses to wear last week with no presription, just to see if I would be able to wear them. You can't tell they are in except that you can see 100% better. I got coloured ones. You start by wearing them for a couple of hours at a time until your eyes get used to having something in them.
When I was a teenager I heard that rubbing your eyes isn't good for the skin around your eyes and causes wrinkles. I have never been one to do that. I don't have allergies, so I don't feel the need to scratch or rub.
My grandfather was blind, my mom, grandmother and uncle all had cataracts. None of them wore contacts, so you see eye diseases are not caused by contacts, don't believe all the negative feedback from people that have only heard bad things. My optometrist wears contacts, try it and make your own decision.

it does take a little getting use to, but after wearing it often, you won't feel anything. disadvantages are that there's the possiblity that they hurt your eyes...and sometimes it's really uncomfortable when you can't rub your eyes.
at first, it literally feels like you've got a piece of plastic stuck in your eye. there are drops to help numb the feelings at the very beginning. you need to resist the urge to scratch, as the edges of the contact lens can damage your cornea.
I have noticed a longterm disadvantage in contact wearers. as time goes on, a contact wearer's tear ducts begin to stop producing tears. as far as i can tell, this process is irreversable. the only way to stop further damage is to stop using contacts.

why are you only getting one lens? that would technically be considered a monacle.
well, i never wear one b4 but the most important thing if u want 2 wear one then i u have to be extra careful not to fall asleep while wearing it..
