How are computer glasses different from regular glasses?
Question:
Answers:
It's not so much the glare, but instead the distance. Most regular glasses correct for either long distance, or up-close (or both, in bifocals). Computer glasses are formulated for optimal vision at a distance of more like 1-2 feet away (which is where your computer screen usually is). This can help you focus better on the screen, which reduces squinting, eyestrain, neck pain from pushing your neck forward so you can see better, etc.
You can get your computer glasses coated for anti-glare, which can help reduce eyestrain as well. But you usually have to request this -- it's not standard on all computer glasses. The main thing is the focus distance.

Not sure, but the sunglasses that I have sure cut the glare really well!
Well, I just got new glasses with an anti-reflection/anti-glare coating that was recommended to me because I use a computer at work, but I really can't tell the difference.I think the extra £60 they got out of me at Specsavers was a big fat con! when ur lookin into a computer, ur lookin directly into LED lights, and computer glasses help block that a little. reading glasses jus help your vision while your reading
They help with the glare and if you look at a pc screen for a long time, it hurts your eyes and they are supposed to prevent it.
some help with reducing radiation from crt monitors
Computer glasses? I have never heard of such things I wear anti-glare spectacles, it has some coating done over the glasses. They protect the eyes from harmful radiation omitted by the monitor screen.
Computer glasses are so you won't strain so much when you are looking at the computer for long amounts of time and regular glasses are customized to fit you for the best way for you to get close to a 20/20 eye sight. which is the best you can see.
Hope this helps alot!!
