Is it a good idea to have a ENT doctor perform a rhinoplasty to straighten a crooked nose?

Question:
I will have to get septoplasty in the future due to my deviated septum. And I was wondering weather I should have a ENT doctor perform a septoplasty and rhinoplasty. Or a plastic surgeon to do this. Keep in mind if I go with a ENT my health insurance would cover the hospital fees/anesthesia and septoplasty operation but not the rhinoplasty. If I go with a plastic surgeon my health insurance would probably cover none since its not in the network.

Do most ENTs do frequent rhinoplasty to fix broken or crooked noses due to accidents?

Answers:
Actually, in January I plan to do the exact same thing with an ENT. I had my nose broken 4 times by an abusive Xhusband. Now my septum is so deviated I can't hear well it is building pressure in my Eustachian tubes. I am a nurse and I would only consider an ENT for my septoplasty and rhinoplasty.
Most ENTs do rhinoplasty to help people breathe. Crooked noses don't take in enough oxygen. I had my deviated septum repaired.
I would just make sure the ENT doc has done enough of these surgeries to be competent.
Do most ENTs do frequent rhinoplasty to fix broken or crooked noses due to accidents?..yes they do, and they also take an extra year or two of facial plastic surgery during their residency because they're the ones sewing faces back together all the time. Any surgical proceedure they perform will most likely require a cut through a highly visible facial area.

My son had his nose fixed by an ENT, and it is just perfect..I couldn't have asked for a better looking result, and as you stated.it was covered by insurance, which was no small consideration.

Good luck!
