What are the reccomened Cholestrol levels for a 49 year old man?

Question:
What is just a "normal" or "safe" level?

Answers:
The 'official' number is under 200. However, recent research suggests that cholesterol should be under 160.

However, total cholesterol doesn't tell the whole story. More important is the ratio of LDL (bad cholesterol) to HDL (good cholesterol). The goal is for the ratio to be less than 3.

Other Answers:
The same as they are for any age

Under 200
