Depends on where it is . In the skin a warm bath or cloth can aid the soreness I give it help to squeeze the skin in a pinch between my fingers and burst it from the side or bottom as long as it is a small poke in the top skin so impurities come out aid in ointments and salves the old fashion camphor type or chappstick salves may help unless it is on the face or outward areas you cant hide under clothes. This is the best I can tell you best to seek a doctor.

If you are going to try to draw it out yourself, try warm/hot compresses. You don't say where the abscess is, but it may need to be incised and drained by a professional. You may even require antibiotics for a systemic infection such as Staph (which can cause abscesses).

apply heat until the white comes to the surface then incision and drainage, clean bandages antibiotic cream.

cut it open with seril surgicl or excoto knife and let it drain
