upping iron levels QUICK?


Question:
I'm not having very good luck upping my iron levels, they keep dropping. Tried to give blood 3 times and they dropped (over the course of a week) from 12.5 to 8. Red Cross tech looked at me like I was dying(on the 8) and asked if I was tired. (I'm always tired, doesn't have anything to do with my iron levels!lol)
I eat lots of iron rich food and take an iron pill a day, lots of vit. C to help but I am wondering if coke/soda products can lower your iron? cuz I drink alot of those. (don't drink tea though)
This is kind of frustrating, I need to get my iron up.

Answers:
Cut back on the coke, to much caffine. Spinach is excellent - put some in a salad, pan fry it with a little butter and garlic. Liver is all an excellent source. If you like it, try eating it once a week until your iron is ok. Hope this works.

Red meat and spinach.Give yourself 2 weeks and you should be feeling MUCH better.

Soda products take out calcium and potassium, but I'm not sure about Iron. Regardless, I would start drinking more water and less soda.
