i have a lump?

Question: i have a lump on my knee and it feels like an extra bone. it doesn't hurt unless i run for a long period of time. [an hour or so]. i have already seen a doctor and they didn't know what it was. i haven't gotten x-rays because we don't have the money to. do you have any ideas as to what it is? my family has debated that it is eather a tumor an extra bone, a canserous spot or a sports injury. the doctor told us that it wasn't getting any bigger. can you tell me your thoughts about what it is? and what should i do besides x-rays?

sounds like calcium deposit to me. I use to get them during track just right under the kneecap area. never hurt unless I ran too much. but found out that if I cut back on dairy products it went down faster.

Xray or other scan is the way to find out..but.probably cyst or bone spur. Best of luck. You need to have a mri or an x-ray. you shouldn't put your health aside just because of money problem's. Lot's of doctor's will give you discounted rates for people without health insurance.

To me what you have sounds like a cyst.
