what do I have to do for preparation of removal of pins in my ankle?

Question:
I had surgery two years ago since I broke my ankle while riding bike
Now it's time for surgery again for removal of pins, can anyone tell me what it is like?

Answers:
This will not be bad at all. You will go into the hospital for an outpatient surgery where they will make a small incision into the ankle to remove the pins. You should go home the same day in an ace wrap, possibly no weight bearing the first day. Good luck.

Wow thats a long time, I broke my arm and had pins in it for several months. If they are pins that are sticking out (like mine) all the doctor did was get pliers and pull them out. It didnt hurt like I thought it would, came out pretty easy actually. And before I got them taken out, I could reach into my cast and move them around, kind of wierd though. If they are the same type they sholdnt hurt and you wont need any preparation.
I had that done a while ago. It is nowhere near as bad as the first surgery. Mine was like 2 days of recovery, then back to work. No real prep needed.
had screws removed from below my knee...just felt better afterwords!
