I get my migraines from back and neck tension. I take a prescription which works great, ask the doc or try putting cold packs on the back of your neck. Also, stay away from light and noise, obviously.
I don't know what causes them but you can go see your doctor and they will give you a shot that will stop them. After that if you still get more you should talk to them and see if there is anything they need to do.
Have you eaten a lot of chocolate i got migraines for a week from too much chocolate. Someone told me they can cause them.
go ahead and go to a specialist. you dont want to live like that for the rest of your life. i did and i hardly ever get migraines anyomore. go to a neurologist
You know what? This could be something significant or it could be "nothing." It could be diet, stress, pinched nerve, premenstrual. You certainly should not be afraid to have your primary medical doctor check it out. I think there are certain meds they can prescribe that if they help the symptoms, then it's migraines and not, heaven forbid, something worse.
As I transcribe medical reports for neurologists, I understand they can be debilitating. I have certainly had a few good headaches that I would consider migranous. Get it checked out. Just knowing they are "nothing serious" will probably make you feel better. A lot of times they never know what the cause is.
First off, how do you know they are migraines? Seems like nowadays, someone gets a headache, it's automatically a migraine. Nobody just has headaches anymore.
If you are experiencing headaches daily, talk with your doctor. If you are taking medicine daily, you could be having "rebound" headaches.
If the pain is one sided and you are sensitive to light &/or sound, have nausea, & / or vomiting, it's probably a migraine. The docs have better medicine than OTC's and you can prevent most migraines from reoccurring by taking beta blockers.
If there is a history of stroke in your family, again, see your doc ASAP! Pain is a symptom of something wrong somewhere. Get help.Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
Are they really migraines or are they just severe headaches. Migraines usually render you unable to function. Is it possible you are having rebound headaches? You can get those from taking too much pain reliever.
Migraine headaches seem to be caused in part by changes in the level of a body chemical called serotonin. Serotonin plays many roles in the body, and it can have an effect on the blood vessels. When serotonin levels are high, blood vessels constrict (shrink). When serotonin levels fall, the blood vessels dilate (swell). This swelling can cause pain or other problems.
Many things can affect the level of serotonin in your body, including your level of blood sugar, certain foods and changes in your estrogen level if you're a woman.

My doctor had me keep a journal and write done what I was doing or had eaten prior to a migraine. Then she looked for a pattern.
Since you are getting them everyday your doctor will most likely want to do further testing.
good luck
I have had migraines for 30 years now. THEY NEED NO EXCUSE. They can be "triggered" by tension, stress, foods but absolutely can appear for no reason at all. But. . . .you need to make an appointment with a doctor to make sure there is nothing wrong first. Tumor, etc. I would ask to see a Neurologist. Regular M.D.s just don't know how to treat them properly. I go to a pain clinic. They will probably have you keep a diary. See what you ate and when you had a migraine to see if they can identify any of the triggers. I have the regular migraines, cluster, tension, stress, etc. and then I get them from my arthritis. If they don't find anything in your X-Rays they can prescribe preventatives. They worked miracles for me for years until the arthritis kicked in. And they have miracle drugs like Zomig and Imitrex that I would just die without. They have pills, nasal sprays and injections. The pills work OK if you can catch it very early. The nasal spray works faster. When I wake up with a killer headache, the one where I am laying on the bathroom floor throwing up I use the injection. Good luck to you. I sure feel for you.
