How do you keep cool in this weather ?

We live in a double wide modular, which, even though it does have central air, the unit the people put in who owned it before us was way to small, thus causing it to run all day up until about 10:00 at night. Cooling bills were a pain in the ***. It gave out on us last Friday, and my wife and I decided that it would be cheaper to just get a window unit, then call a repairman. I won't say our house is cool as a cucumber, but its not a sauna either.

Besides air conditioning, wearing loose fitting bright colored clothes when your outside deflects the sun, as well as allows the body to breath. Drinking plenty of cool water (not Coke, coffee, or tea because caffine will dehydrate you, as will the alcohol in beer) throughout the day keeps the body's cooling system well hydrated. Stay out of the sun if possible. I fastwalk for exercise along a biking trail nearby. IUntil last night, I had not walked for three days, and I waited until the later evening yesterday to do so, so I could get more benefit from the shading of the trees. Being in a pool or lake for 30 minutes or better will bring down your body tempature, but make sure you find a cool spot afterwards, or the effects will only last for an hour or so. Try staying out of the heat as much as possible, especially during the hours of 3-6 when it is usually at its peak. Finally, eat very little starch or sugar during this time, because both have a tendency to hinder the body's cooling system.

And even though I have central air, it still doesnt mean anything because when it becomes this hot outside, there really is no way that you can stay completely cool. go in the NUDE try that

Cool showers and a fan work great, when in Hawaii, that was the best way to stay cool.. Just jump the coolest temperature you can tolerate. Then go by a fan you'll cool right down. Also go out side and have a water fight have some fun while cooling off..

air conditioning is wonderful.
Swimming on a pool, lake or ocean is more wonderful.
A cave, is dark, but usually cooler.

cool drinks, lowest humidity in the house, A/C of course. If you don't have an air conditioner then there is a homemade A/C you can make.

Hang a wet towel in a doorway and aim a fan to blow across it. The evaporation of the water in the towel will cool the air because the evaporation process draws heat from the air. That's why we sweat when we are hot.

You can also wear a wet T-shirt and aim a fan at yourself. You will find you become extremely cool, probably too cool! Don't give yourself a cold this way!

put your wrists under running cold water for a while and run ice cubes on your neck.it supposedly will cool the blood that runs through the rest of your body. Drink a lot of water to stay hydrated, where cotton shirts.its breathable and absorbs sweat also wear light colored clothes. Swimming or a cold bath is always a winner.
