curious healing?

Question:
ever see an old movie where the crook uses sandpaper to wear down the ridges of his finger print so that he won't leave prints behind? I recently had a mishap with a grinder and pretty much obliterated the finger print ridges on my thumb, curiously I notice that now that it is healed the ridges seem to be back as normal with no signs of the old wound. Anyone in the medical field have any insight as to how our body does this?

Answers:
Those pups are genetically encoded. When your reparative cells kick into high gear following a trauma, like grinder-feeling, they need a blueprint to follow namely the DNA in your cells. Since you are fearfully and wonderfully made, your unique pattern can be replicated. (This is a plus for law enforcement because otherwise, criminals could easily change their ID marks) The sandpaper in the movies was supposedly giving the crooks a better feel for what they were doing, presumably by removing the calluses from the fingertips.

Other Answers:
well that is easy once the cut happens the white blood cells begin to heal the wound.and the vitemin c that is in your body hekps the white blood cells heal the wound and kills the germs that try to enter
