Knee problem?

Question: Ok, so I fell really hard on the floor and my knee was killing me that whole day. Since then, it doesn't hurt as bad, but it is a tad swollen and my knee is covered in a bruise that varies from blue, to yellow-y and in some spots, its like little blue dots. Do you think its just a bruise, or do you think that it could be cracked?
I really don't want to go to the doctor.
