I have tried to use a tampon one time when I was fourteen years old, and I am now nineteen years old. The..?

Question:
thing is that when i tried to put the tampon in, it didn't go in even though i followed the instructions on the box. Anyway, it really hurt, but im not sure if it was from having my period or from the tampon. Do you think i broke my hymen, even though the tampon only went in about an inch or something around there? I am still a virgin. Also, if you can provide a website with pictures of where the hymen is located or if you can tell me exactly where it is located and how it tears and how to check if i still have it and how it looks like, it would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Answers:
it could have ruptured your hymen or just stretched it a little. next time u try to insert a tampon, make sure to be RELAXED and try LUBRICATION since you are tight. open your legs with a miror in your hand. bring your hand towards the hole you menustrate out of (not the little hole) and look for a lil piece of skin there (hymen) YOU ONLY HAVE 3 HOLES DOWN THERE.. PEE HOLE, MENUSTRATION/SEX HOLE (lol) AND ANUS. *extra info* it tears in MANY ways. riding bikes, fingering, gymnastics, stretching, riding a horse, some arent even born with one.

Other Answers:
It's possible that maybe you inserted it into the wrong hole.(it happens). Or you aren't angling the tampon in the right direction. It has nothing to do with your hymen.

I wouldnt recommend using a tampon if youre a virgin because probably your hymen is still intact. So it probably wont be able to be inserted, talk to your doctor if youre still concerned. Your doctor would be able to tell if it is still intact even though your a virgin..sounds like it *smiles* You probably just did it wrong. I was really confused the first time I tried to use one. Ask a girlfriend to show you how to do it. Also, it shouldn't have broke your hymen if it went in only an inch. And of course you're still a virgin. Why are you so concerned about your hymen, Are you super religious?
