First Aid Service?

Question:
Hello if you are a teen and you would like to start a service that provides first aid to your community and you are trained in first aid, would it be illegal?

Answers:
Just as you have already been told, there would probably be alot of licensing to go through and depending on your age, this may present a real problem.
There is a very fine line in doing what you are doing and doing what they call practicing medicine without a license.
I kinow plenty of RN's and Paramedics who are even more skilled in the medical field than you are and don't know of a single one who is even interested in doing something like this because of that fine line.
I think at this point your best bet would be do volunteer work that involves your skills.
I am an OR Tech and I just recently volunteered with the Red Cross in a First Aid Booth and had a ball.
I admire your spunk but for now I think you are limited in what you can do but don't let that stop you. . . have you considered a career in the medical field?
For me it has been an interesting, wonderous adventure and career.

Good Luck
consult your local health dept. city and state ordinances may put your parents at risk. school group may be able to have more leverage.
no it is not legal. If you formed a group to provide first aid services you would have to go trhough alot of licensing. You would be considered a health care provider (similar to an ambulance service)
