what is the best way to deal with acne?
Question:
do eating and certain foods help?
what should u avoid?
Answers:
I suffered for years with mine, I went to a skin doctor, and it helped. I am allergic to the benzoil-peroxide in some of the products, my face swells, and I can't see out of my eyes.
Current wisdom is that eating certain foods does not aggravate acne, the thing about not eating chocolate, cheese, or greasy stuff is not true.
Avoid over drying out your face with cleansers, it makes it worse.
Cleanliness helps. Use a mild soap, or whatever the doctor recommends, and use a clean washcloth every time you wash your face. I bought some cheap white cloths at Walmart, they come in a bundle, and I can bleach them so they will be clean. Don't use your face cloth on any other part of your body, or visa-versa. Acne is a Staphylococcal infection, it could spread if you have broken skin elsewhere, and open sores can receive germs from elsewhere.
Eat a balanced diet, that will help heal any infection.
A doctor can prescribe antibiotics, topical medications, cleansers or soaps, or recomend some over-the counter stuff.
And keep your hands off of your face. Don't break the pustules open, that can spread the germs around, and take the infection deeper and wider in your skin. And wash your hands before you touch any of your skin care products, or wash your face.

Use Pro Active and eat what you want. It really works. proactive doesnt work so dun try dat..stay off da sweets and eat healthy
Use Proactive Solution for acne. I promise you it will work.
Don't pick at your acne as it will cause scaring and pitting.
Change your pillowcases often too.
See a dermatologist. Foods have no effect on acne. The girl that said to use pro active is an agent for them.. its advertisement.. wether it works or not is in debate but you should at least understand where that advice is comming form
best way is to keep your skin as clean as possible while eating foods that are generally good for you. Stay away from high fat content food, and a good judge of healthy eating is having as many colors as possible on your plate
acne has nothing to do with eating. its just your horomones and most likely to form near puberty. hope this helps! Food has nothing to do with acne.contrary to what people have said. DRINK LOTS OF WATER! I do know for a fact that Proactive DOES work! I will say that on some people (myself included) it can cause a bunch of little tiny bumps on your face. I called Proactive and they said this is normal. Your skin is clearing itself of excess oils and dirt in your skin. I noticed a HUGE difference in about 3-3 1/2 weeks and I haven't had to deal with acne during 'that time of the month'. If you do try it.you can use it once or twice a day safely. But, the product does go fast! You get pretty small bottles (4oz and below of each product). So, use it sparingly. 2 dime sized drops of Renewing Cleanser will clean your whole face, 5-7 drops of Revitalizing Toner on a flat cotton pad (they say) will cover your entire face and neck (I find I have to use more and this is the first thing I run out of lol), and 3 small dabs of Repairing Lotion rubbed over your skin takes care of it. It's VERY effective and costs about $20 a month.one shipment lasts (or is supposed to) for 2 months.so it's $40 for 2 months plus S=H. Try it.it works. :) Good luck! :)
ok three things 1. how old are you, if you have reached puberty it is caused by hormones, if this is the case proactive might not work for you, it's gauranteed to work for those with naturaly oily or dirty skin, people with larger pores etc. 2. if it is hormonal it will either die down on its own or it will follow you into your twenties, when i was in the army i got an estrogen shot (all guys get it to keep us from fighting) it cleared up my acne till it wore off, in moderation estrogen has no bad side effects (its naturaly occuring in males just in much smaller quantities than females) 3. food rarely affects acne, that is a myth. also, when looking for a soap get a non oily perfume free soap. all in all, unless you have terrible acne dont worry about it, stress increases the presence of acne (messes up your hormones). swim alot (in chlorinated pools it dries out your skin. and hair so use a conditioner and it will make your hair soft again.
good luck. oh and please dont pick your acne (with fingernails) it causes pock marks (you know, those deep scars you see on peoples faces) the proper way to pop acne is to use two q tips pressing hard on the skin roll into the acne (yes it hurts if done right) also use an astringeant daily. ok now im done.
