i think that men shud b checked every 3-5 yrs just like us women do (smears etc) what do u think??

im a bloke and i agree 100% i found a lump 12 months ago but lucky for me i found it in time and am now 100% clear,most men dont self check and if they do they are not sure wot to look for and not only do i belive we should be checked by trained staff but it should be every 12 months, its abit humilliating as every woman will know but its worth it as personally id rather have life and a bit of embarrasment than the other option

state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square

ong.. think of it! This much space for camping.

I was unaware of a requirement for women to do so, though. If you're saying that publicity about health issues is usually aimed at women, instead of men, then, yes, I think you're right.
If you're wondering whether it's easier for men to notice an STD than it is for women, then, perhaps, but it's still wise for everyone to get tested every once in a while.

Women don't have to go every year but just do and should. It is the same with men. We do not have to go every year but should. I go get my blood test and a finger up the rear end and he looks things over front and back.So it is not that men don't have to go they just don't. I am a male and I have my blood work done every 6 months, a colonoscopy every 2 years, and ekg every 2 years, prostate exam yearly and a complete physical every year. We need to do this type of maintainence the same way we do for our cars.

Heres a thing to think about (although I agree in principle.)
When men die (over about 80 years old), about half of them have prostate cancer. But they dont *die* from the prostate cancer, most of them never know they had it. If you did a yearly test for prostate cancer (which in itself is quite unpleasant), then you would find lots of older men with the disease. If you were diagnosed with cancer, most people would want treatment for it (which is fair enough) but the majority would be having invasive dangerous surgery and medications, for something that they would never have known about without the tests. So should we test them?
This doesnt apply for younger men, so go get checked out!
