should a person suffering with allergies avoid silk and wool fabrics?
Question:
Answers:
Allergies are antigen-specific. What are your allergic symptoms? (sneezing, watery eyes, hives, swelling, wheezing, etc.) Do they occur most times that you wear such garments? If so, is it related to the cloth, something in the material, or due to your detergent?
Basically, if exposure to a particular fabric, or anything else for that matter, is clearly associated with the onset of allergic symptoms, then you should avoid that fabric or substance. If your allergic symptoms were life-threatening (ie. required hospitalizatin) then you should definitely see an allergist before taking any chances. For typical allergic symptoms, trial and error is a simple way to try to determine what is aggravating factor.
So many things around us have so many things mixed together that it is often difficult to determine what you are allergic to. However, if you wear silk or wool garments without apparent difficulty, then I would look for other causes. May God bless you.
Umm, depends on whether or not they are allergic to silk and wool.
