what can I expect from surgery?

Question:
I am having a tonsillectomy, adnoidectomy, functional endoscopic sinus surgery and reconsctruction of my septum on the 25th. I was wanting to know what kind of pain I can expect?

Answers:
I have not had the sinus surgery so that I can not help. As for the other a lot has to do with your age! It is better to have it done when you are a child. I had it done at the age of 17, it was suppose to be a one day thing and I was in there for a week. But my adenoids were hard as a rock so they could not get them out. Like one of the other answers said it all depends on you and your body. Some heal faster than others. Eat ice cream for the first few days then go into soup but stay with the soft things. It is pain full I will not lie to you but you will get better within a few short days. They will give you T3's for pain but only a couple to 4 days worth. You will be fine heck we give birth, now that is pain full!! This is nothing. Good luck!

Other Answers:
moderate pain, I don't think you will think you will feel like your going to die

Omg good luck. Probably a lot. But I have had surgery before & they give you enough pain killers to kill a decent sized horse. You'll be fine. Good luck hun! don't even sweat it..
sore throat for a few days..no biggie.

i don't think that you'll even notice the pain much, because you will be overwhelmed with lots of get well cards, gifts and love from family and friends. so, go for it!
