How to get rid of migraines?

Question:
My fiancé gets bad migraines often. Does any one know any ways to treat or get rid of them? What are some none-medicine approaches? Can any foods, activities, or resting positions help? Give me as much info as you can, thank you very much!

Answers:
My husband gets them too. What he does is lies flat down in a dark room sometimes with his sunglasses on eyes closed and just takes deep breaths to relax and in about 20 minutes he is all better. Caffeine and bright light squiggly lines in a book or picture are some of his triggers. There are other foods that my trigger them but I am not sure what hey are. You may want to check www.webmd.com for more info on migraines and food triggers.

Deport them back to mexico, oops, that's immigrants!

I have to lie down and put pillows over my head to keep the light out.and then sleep for the day.if they are really bad for her, then she should go to a doctor besides the standards (which u will find when researching this on internet) i have found that breathing techniques are very helpful. Anna Coy has a breathing program or probably any breathing practice such as kundalini yoga breath of fire etc.
it helps me a lot. exercise is also one way some people have found to control migraines--often overlooked by those seeking medication.

I got rid of my ver bad migraines after I had my wisdom teeth extracted. I do not know whether it will work for her.
To lay still in a dark room with complete silence it helped a bit.

avoid Chocolate. I know this sounds odd, but my sister gets migranes, and her doc told her that. There is something in chocolate that can trigger migranes, especially if it is something you eat fairly often. Stress can also make them worse, so do relaxing exercizes. Nice quiet cool dark places. Avoid bright lights caffiene certain environmental setting perfumes, cigarette smoke etc.
