I get sinus infections far too often, is there a way to prevent them?

Question:
I live in a drier (less humid) part of Texas now than where I came from, and I'm just confused as to how all of a sudden I get a sinus infection at least once a month.

Answers:
Flush your sinuses with simply saline.. this will remove the build up of viruses and bacteria.
Avoid breathing cleaning products in your home. avoid breathing fuel vapors.. avoid breathing heavy perfumes .. hairspray and nail polish remover.. all these things destroy the nature mucose in the lining of your nose.
Cut dairy products out of your diet.. milk, cheese, butter, ice cream. these make your mucose very thick and traps bacteria.
Build your immune system with good food and exercise.
Drink spring water..not tap water with clorine.. these things have helped me avoid sinus infections for the past 10 years.
If you feel stuff drink hot golden seal tea.. you can find this at GNC. it will make your nose run and clear you up.

I had a friend who ended up having to have her atnoids removede because of a similar problem. Ask Your doctor.

Many of the viruses and bacteria that cause sinus infections live in our noses and when they are given the opportunity, infect the sinuses just off the nose. In the more humid parts of the world your nose produces mucus and the pathogens are washed out of the sinuses, but in the drier areas a lot of the mucus dries out before it washes the pathogens away so it is necessary to do this yourself. Get a bottle of saline nasal spray and wash your nose out twice a day and you will get fewer sinus infections.
