get it done..
1. healthier.infections can occur behind the foreskin
2. easier to keep clean
3. he won't be called a freak
it is mutilation let the little guy decide when hes old enough I have always felt that it's not a decision that should be made by one's parents. Men should be able to decide for themselves whether they want to be circumsized or not.
I have three sons and all three are "cut" as am I. The first procedure went poorly and had to be redone, but overall it is easier to take care of hygiene wise if your circumcised. I recommend it.
in today's world of social judgment men prefer circumcision.
why?
because they see it as an picture of an ideal man in pornos and series such as sex and the city, and so on.
So considering that your son will probably want to be popular and proudly show his wee wee to the girls, I say, go for it.
My boys were given pain medicine when it was done, but I couldn't tell that it worked. It was done when they were one week old. as an uncircumsized man i think that if you are born with it you should leave it alone as for as infections go if your son wipes when he pees and washes it good in the shower he will have no problems and i have never been called a freak at least not outside of the bedroom.
There is nothing wrong with circumcision. It is not mutilation. Gees people! When cave men ran around naked they needed extra skin to protect the delicate head of their penis hence the anatomy, but it does not HURT or MUTILATE a penis to cut off the extra foreskin. It makes for a neat and clean infection free penis. And it does not detriment the child. The baby will not be harmed by it. Some doctors DO use antisthetics and some don't but you can always request it for your child. I am sure they'll be happy to rub a little numbing agent on the skin first - remember it is sagging skin - they don't cut INTO the little member! My son's was done on day 3 or 4 while we were still in the hospital. It looks really red for a while, but you keep vaseline on it and it heals up fine. Then he'll have a nice clean one and not one that "gathers moss"
My husband didnt have his done til he was 12, no particular reason, they just never had it done as a baby. I gotta say, we both prefer it. Far more hygenic, and it just doesnt gross me out like the alternative would. those are our personal opinions however. maybe some people are into that stuff. Personally, it didnt really hurt him, and the benefits are worth it. He agrees.
I would get it done. I don't know any men who are circumsized that remember getting it done as an infant or have health issues because they got circumsized. I do know some men that have not been circumsized and some sexual things are uncomfortable for them (physically and emotionally). But either way you go, as long as you teach your kid good hygiene and give him good self-esteem, he'll be ok. my husband is not circumsized and he said that there is no reason to be. My nephew was circumsized and he was strapped down to the hospital bed and we could hear him screaming from down the hall. I think it is cruel and it is unnessesary to circumcise.
