Does Dramamine work for theme parks?
Question:
Will Dramamine do the trick for me now and, if so, how long before going on a ride should I take it?
Answers:
it will work, take it at least 1/2 hour before you ride. Bonine is great too, that's what the cruise ship docs give the seasick passengers
Other Answers:
It will make you very sleepy. Don't go on the rides. Just watch.
It sure does, my sister gets motion sick, and she takes it before we go to Kennywood and then she's fine to ride anything she wants
it works for me and my dad! so it might work for u 2!
There's this really good medicine called bonine. My sister and my mom both get really car sick and couldn't go on rides at theme parks or ride on airplanes w/out getting sick. But then they took bonine and they haven't gotten sick when they take it. So go get it and it can basically change your life.
yes. and i would do it 30 mins before the first ride
man, my friend is just like you. yea it works, but it makes you Xtreamly sleepy so eat a snickers or drink something like a coke.
to shake off the dumb side effects.
Yes, and take a second dose, 4-6 hours later. Don't eat too heavy of a meal before taking off in the morning for your destination. Any soda/beer will turn to blubbers in your tummy as well. No milk as it coats the stomach and doesn't mix well with other foods quickly. Take a few Tums with you so lower the stomach acids when you do eat something. Think about any greasy foods as the grease tends to turn your food to separate in your gut and is not digesting easily. Cotton Candy, french fries with salt, A barbecue sandwich is partly broken down and is good, also it rice and Chinese foods. Stick with mellow foods, eat eggs and toast for breakfast, they won't "back fire" on you once you get to the rides. But yes taking Dramamine will help with your dizziness. When you look around you try to keep your eyes on the far distant (sailors say NOT to watch the waves and to watch the horizon!)

Personal experience
I get motion sickness on a swing! I went to Disneyland and took gravol (Canadian) and it helped me immensely!. It did not make me drowsy and I did not suffer from nausea. You have to take it with food, I think. Try it. It's a shame to have to watch from the sidelines when you could be spending quality time with your kids. Good luck..
There are probably more complete answers but try Ginger tablets - many folks have great results with it and there are no side-effects (Google on the net if you want to read other folks experience).
