How do I wind down after an evenings work to get to sleep?

Question:
Working in a pub most nights leaves me too awake and active to sleep at night. I end up going to bed at around 5:30am and only getting a few hours sleep! Any tips few inducing drowsiness (without tablets of course!!) xxxxxxx

Answers:
Read a bit of a book this will get the room peacefull and quiet and slow your heart rate, don't watch tv (this will do the opposite!). You can by lavender sleep sprays now which you can spray on you bedlinen or just a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow will do fine.
Look out for balms which you rub on to your temples these work a treat and are very relaxing. Hope this helps you x
This is actually making me yawn!

he! he! he! ..hammer.hammer..you cant.less you go yoga-yogi i have the same problem if you get a good answer pass it on to me but u could try yoga, or taking deep relaxing breaths when you get into bed these helped me for a little bit

Try it, take a warm bath, read a little, lie down and relax. Before you know it you will be asleep.

stretch yourself for about 5 to 10 minutes. I think any type of stretching is good.

sit and watch TV. Anything on TV, after 20 or 30 minutes, you will be ready for bed but please don't walk off to bed, make sure that you actually sleep a while in front of the TV before finally retiring to bed. go home soak your feet in some warm water for about 15 mins while drinking a cup of horlcks or ovaltine while listening to some relaxing music then go upstairs to bed put television on and lie down before you know it you will be dropping off in no time while working dont drink tea or coffee as this is a stimulant and will keep you awake best of luck

hi..a hot realaxing bath with aromatherapy oil..

aren't unsociable hours a bugger!! having worked for the health service for many years all I can tell you establishing a routine tends to help most , not drinking caffiene loaded drinks does help, but reading a book or magazine or watching a video also may help to relax you , the main trouble is that the adreneline is still pumping when you finish work just when all around you alcohol is taking it's toll.
however on a final note there are people who cannot adjust to unsocialable hours and never get used to them so it may a case of finding a job with less unsociable hours.

Meditation will help a lot. You can try going to a local new age centre or buddhist centre to learn the techniques or maybe even try seelf hypnosis. Try www.wendi.com
