dip a q-tip in ammonia and touch it to the bite. Ammonia is the main ingredient in those sticks or pens that are sold to stop bites from itching. A paste of baking soda and water is also soothing.

Try rubbing garlic on the bites. It takes the pain away fast. Take vitamin B complex they will buzz around you but won't bite.
I think if you take a plantain leaf or two and squish them up in your hands until you get some sudsy-looking sap, and put that on it.well I think it works with bee stings. (Haven't had the chance to try it yet though.)
