Is Aloe Vera good for bug bites?

Question:
Something chewed up my legs last weekend at a church-related water event. I've been itching all week, and aloe vera seems to be helping. Is this ok, or is this going to make it worse?

Answers:
it is one of the best things you can use, honestly. a dab of it on the bites about every day i would think would help decrease the itching until it finally goes away

Other Answers:
aloe vera has natural antiseptic and soothing properties.,

It won't make it worse, if it feels better then it is working. I have always found that calamine lotion works the best on bug bites It is good for bug bites and also sun burns, too.

No it wont hurt. Alcohol will help too, but it may burn at first.

ME!!

it is very good u can put it on and it should go away. but if u have sensative skin i would ask a proffesioal. Aloe vera just soothes the skin (usually for sunburns). Benadryl, the antihistamine is best for bug bites bc it stops the itching. Maybe even some lidocaine to numb the itch senstaions. However, if it looks infected, or lasts more than a week see an md!

Hmm, don't know. But, I heard it is good for sunburn. Good luck though!

Aloe vera is well known for use on minor cuts and burns and bug bites if it is getting worse instead of better then see your doctor,

its good because it has aloe in it i remember my mom would put aloe on almost all of our cuts an scars and even some bug bites aloe is good its an old remedy even though some modorn medicine would tell u to but itching cream on it Aloe is fine. You maight want to try Tea Tree Oil as well!
