What's the best way to reduce raised, red scars?

Question:
I had surgery about 2 months ago and the incisions have healed but they're red and really stick out. They're really noticeable. Is it worth buying some sort of cream at the drug store or just letting nature take its course? Are there any herbal remedies? Anyone have anything that's worked for them?

Answers:
Apply the liquid from a natural vitamin E capsule daily. This is a home remedy from good ole mom which has always helped me. Additionally wou might want to visit your doctor or a plastic surgeon as there are several prescription alternatives that can be applied.

Other Answers:
You can try silicone, compression bandages. They are supposed to work for raised scars & keloids. You can buy them anywhere. They're in with the regular bandaids.

The problem is that it was performed by a sub-par canadian doctor. If you went to an American doctor you would have neither a scar or redness.
