Seniors over 65 only please?

Question:
I am trying to help my grandma, and I don't understand, even after reading her medicare information, as how to advise her. There is something that she can look into called MSA. It's some kind of savings, and then there's Medigap. Some kind of extra insurance. If Medicare is only paying 80%, she will need something else to cover the 20%, as she doesn't have a whole lot of money, and I'm trying to get her the best coverage. This is my way of networking to find out what is the best health care when grandma turns 65. Can someone who's made some options give me some advice? Thank you.

Answers:
Is she retiring froma company that may have something? Was her husband in the military (might be some financial advantage there depending on her income maybe in care at the VA.) H- Ins. is extremely expensive. Thus the medicare/medicaid is usually the best way to go.The MSA is kinda ok but you have to save into this and how much you got to save? I feel very sorry for our senior citiz. Understanding that.. there are orgianizations like the VFW, American Leg, DAV, AMVETS, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodges etc etc there are others that offer supplemental insurance to medicare to..If you contact them you will get infor and cost factors..of course she would have to join these orgs. in an Auxiliary capacity in order to take advantage of them..they usually cost from 12.00 to 20.00 a year for membership..They also have various kinds of grants like Cancer etc one can apply for.. Sorry couldn't be more help..I know it is frustrating.Good Luck..Trust your instincts you'll find what you are looking for..
Have you looked into a reverse mortgage . (could help ease all financial burdens)
