I have been trying to see if its still carpel tunnel but cant find a site that shows symtoms. i get a pinch in my wrist followed by pins and needles then numbness. I was told several years ago by a dr oh i can operate on you today if u like he didnt even do test or anything so i left immediately. and i have heard too many horror stories about botched operations can someone explain and help me?

Answers:
Yes, like me, you have carpel tunnel syndrome. I had surgery done on my left hand and it is fine but to tell you the truth, it was very difficult opening cans, cartons, dressing, etc. once I had the surgery. Never get both hands done at once or you will be totally incapacitated. I still need to get the right hand done but I hesitate because of the inconvenience. Get a second opinion because I had tests done prior to surgery. Thank you for your question.

Other Answers:
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a medical condition in which the median nerve is compressed at the wrist causing symptoms like tingling, numbness, night time wakening, pain, coldness, and sometimes weakness in parts of the hand. CTS is much more common in women than it is in men, and has a peak incidence around age 50 (though it can occur in any adult). It likely is present to some extent in up to 10% of the adult population.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is known as a "hidden disability" because people can do some things with their hands and appear to have normal hand function. However, despite these appearances, those afflicted often live with severely restricted hand activity due to the pain.

You poor thing!
