Quitting smoking?

Question:
I just quit cold turkey. This is my 3rd week w/o a cigarette and I was wondering what changes my body has gone through other than things tasting different.

Answers:
You have actually changed the neuro receptor pathways in your brain. You will find that you will think more clearly and faster. Congratulations on not being a nicotine addict.

Depending on how long you smoked, it'll take about five years for your lungs to get back to normal. This from my dead cardiologist. good 4 u! now uwont die REAL earlie.

I have give up smoking for 7 month,I can tell a difference in taste.

Well you are doing your lungs a favor, that's for sure! I am trying to quit..I like to smoke on the weekends with friends but during the week I never think of cigarettes. Congrats to you!

well, 24 hours after your last cigarette your heart and lungs start to heal and regenerate cells well you get your sense of smell back. you may get a severe cold or sinus infection or even pneumonia. i got pneumonia after i quit. you're definitely getting healthier! congrats! you can do it!

Good for you. Don't smoke again. It will kill you or ruin your appearance in the long run. You body will feel better and you won't have that terrible smell in your mouth anymore. be strong and keep going about yourself without a cigarette. Kudos to you!!

Your body will go through a whole assortment of withdrawl symptoms, but the good news is that you are mostly over the hump at this point and the really bad ones are out of the way. I quit awhile ago and it was very hard not to want to go back, but I kept thinking that the last thing in the world that I wanted to do was have to start the withdrawl process all over again!

The first symptom mimic that of a cold and you can experience coughing (body getting rid of junk) , sneezing, sore throat, stuffy nose, etc. Then you can add in the crankiness and irritability (very bad at times). You may have depression (you gave up your best friend) loneliness, sadness and resentment. There are times when you will have trouble sleeping and times when you sleep too much. You may not even have any of these symptoms or you may have them all.it really depends on the way your bods is made up, but I can assure you that better days are ahead. Also remember that a craving really only lasts 3-5 minutes and the best way to get through one of those is to breathe deeply and drink lots of water. It helps a lot!
