How old does a baby have to before it can go on an airplane?

Question:

Answers:
a minimum of 2 weeks. immunizations have nothing to due with the age a baby can fly. it has to due with the air pressure. I work in labor & delivery.. pt had the same question. she was in california visiting when she gave birth. she wanted to fly back to her home state to give birth there.. but unfortunately was unable to go. instead she stayed in California and delivered here. the earliest the Dr said it was ok for a baby to fly was 2 weeks of age.

Other Answers:
I wasn't aware that there was an age limit. I'd use common sense, and at least wait a month or two if possible.

Good luck
At six weeks, most babies will have had the vaccinations necessary to make a long air trip safely. You can check with the airline to see whether they have a minimum travel age, but I don't think there is one.

Three kids and a career that involves international travel with said kids.
there's no age limit
check with your Doctor. It is sometimes different for different children.
When I had my kids, my doctor did not want me to take the baby out into public for at least 2 weeks . There delicate systems don't have their immunities built up yet but I never have heard that there was an age limit to go on a plane.
