Question:

Answers:
Yes, here are some of the most popular anti-inflammatory drugs (non-steriodal): Tylenol (acetaminophen), Motrin or Advil (Ibuprofen), and Aleve (napoxen sodium). They help reduce inflamation, thus reducing the pain.

Other Answers:
THEY TAKE THE SWELLING DOWN BUT THATS ABOUT IT.
Yes, if the pain is caused by inflamation.
I think they're suppose to, but I've never had any luck with them.
yes anti-inflammatory drugs also have analgesic or pain relieving properties.
Yeh, because the pain is coming from the swelling, but be careful if your thinking of taking them, check if your not allergic to any ingrediants, or just stick to paracentamol.
That is what they are for.

Just know.
Yes, they are quite often more effective than pain killers. They relieve the inflammation that causes the pain. But some drugs like paracetamol are anti-inflammatory and analgesic.
yes, well they are suppose to according to my doctor.Pain killing is basically their secondary function. However in my experience, they don't really do the job.
Anti-Inflamatory drugs (the non-steroidal ones are called NSAIDS) treat imflamation. A great deal of time, pain is caused by inflamation -- as if often the case in an ankle sprain, broken bones, arthritis . . . becuase NSAIDS decrease inflamation, they can decrease pain.

Inflamation is an important part of the healing process, though. NSAIDS can also cause liver and kidney damage if taken in excessive doses or for prolonged periods of time.

I suggess Ice and rest -- if that doesn't help -- then take a couple ibuprofen (unless you're allergic).
