pain in knee and leg..?

Question:
its a sharp pain between knee and shin . its worse at night :(

Answers:
It could possibly be sciatica, which is pain caused by pressure of irritation of the sciatic nerve.

Characteristically, the pain starts anywhere from the buttocks down the rear of the thigh, or along the outer side of the lower leg to the top of the foot. This is sometimes accompanied with back pain, although not necessarily.

I myself have experienced shooting pains down my leg. Since mine wasn't excruciatingly painful, and would come and go, mine was a mild case. I talked to my yoga teacher and osteopath and they said that it would go away-- and it did after a week or so.

If your pain seems to be unbearable, especially accompanied by back pain, I suggest you seek advice from a professional such as an osteopath or a yoga teacher who can teach you poses to relieve the pain.

Good luck!

Other Answers:
could be shin splints but see a doctor!
My grandmother had the same problem. She ate around 2-3 bananas a day for more potassium. Loss of potassium will cause your legs to do that. You can also get a liquid called hunts peppermint oil.
