GOUT..any remedies out there?

Question:
very painful in big toe!..but prescription medication ( Angout) causes terrible stomach upset..any one have any ideas?..ta

Answers:
Ohhh! I had gout only once in my life, from drinking too much whisky. PAIN! I decided that I wasn't going to have gout again.
And I never have. My father suffered terribly, and 2 of my brothers also have mild gout from time to time. (If there is such a thing as MILD gout) Watch your diet, drink lots of water, and try what I did, I refuse to have gout again! Mental block on gout. Mind over matter.Good luck!

Other Answers:
Drink lots of water. My father deals with gout, and it's almost always due to dehydration.

Change your diet. It is usually caused by eating a rich diet. no there isn't, expecially if you ahd an ingrown toenail cause i've had that on both of my big toes.

Malic acid is supposed to dissolve the ureic acid in the joint and let you flush it out. Malic acid is found in high levels in cider vinegar, apples and green gooseberries.
I use a tablespoon of cider vinegar in a glass of warm water with a dab of honey once a day to control joint pain, its not as gruesome as it sounds and it starts to work in about 2 weeks. But it must be real cider vinegar.

I am not a medical person, but I understand that gout is caused by too much protein. I would suggest eating more fruit and veg, cut out or reduce my consumption of meat cheese fish . Drink more water and avoid acidic fruit. Change your diet

I've read somewhere that spicy food and alcohol triggers the simtoms
