Mosquitoes and Catnip?

Question:
Those little dickens bite me a lot and I react to them more than normal. Where I work people tend to leave the doors open and some days are worse than others so I have been spraying with Deet products to try and protect myself - yet still do get bit as it wears off thru the long day or they find a spot I haven't sprayed.
Now I've been searching the net and reading about Catnip - any of the products I've seen online are from like herbal stores and such -Now my question is - I have *Super Catnip* here which is a pump 100% Pure Catnip Extract that I bought for my cat to have fun with. Can I use that on myself? Any of the products I see listed as herbal seem to be the same thing - anyone know any different? I can't find anything else out and am leaving for work soon and would like to give it a try today. Thanks

Answers:
We grow catnip for our cats and amazingly enough we don't have mosquitoes. I would give it a try. It probably would be better for you than the deet, deet is a chemical and natural as far as I am concerned is better. Do you know what Deet is doing once it get inside you body?

I'm not sure but there's something that works well for me when I work outside. It keeps both mosquitoes and flies away. I take a BOUNCE DRYER SHEET and pin it to the back of my shirt. It looks like a silly little tail, but it works!

You can use catnip but of course cats will find you erotic and try to eat your legs. Best alternative. EAT MARMITE! plenty of it on toast in the mornings. The bugs cant stand the smell of it coming out of your skin. Really works.
of course.. you have to like mamrite. THis is interesting; catnip? Where do I get it to try? Also the dryer sheet sounds worth trying to. Right now I am using a lotion called the "Great Outdoors" it is made by Watkins, in a yellow tube. I put it on in the morning after my shower (it doesn't really have a strong odor, I can spray my perfume right over it and I smell the perfume), and reapply around 5:00 if I am going to be out side. I live in Arkansas and the mosquito's multiply by the half second. I am allergic to them too, so that doesn't help. But it seems like as long as I put this stuff on I don't get bit. Maybe worth a try too.
