what antibiotics do not have sulfa in them?

Question:

Answers:
lots.antibiotics are grouped in 'families'. There are the cephalosporins (such as Keflex), penecillins (such as Amoxil or Amoxacillin), there are macrolides (such as erythromycin, zithromycin).and plenty more where that came from - all of which are not a 'sulfa' antibiotic.and are safe to use if you have a sulfa allergy. Just be sure any doctor you go to knows that you have that allergy - and makes a note of it in your chart - so that you are not prescribed something that will cause a reaction.
Also be sure the pharmacy you use has it in THEIR records.as they can double check for any interactions.

Other Answers:
Bactrim is a sulfa drug. All others do not.

all of the cephalosporins, such as keflex (cephalexin), also penacillins, macrolides - like azithromycin, there are a lot. If you are allergic there is a 7 to 10 percent chance of cross sensitivity to other antibiotics, but it is rare. Penicillins, cephalosporins, tetracyclines, erythromycins--these are not sulfa drugs.
