Focus on curing the depression so you can accept life and not have to think about things at night to change your life.
dont sleep in the day time and try 2 sleeping pills talk to ur family DR ask for some samples of AMBIEN it worked for me. I dont have to take it every night usually and i get a full nights sleep.
Hit the gym hard. It's the only thing that helps my depression and it helps with sleepless nights too.
u should talk to someone about taking medication for insomnia. that way you will be much less tired during the day.

i take medication for insomnia Yeah you need to take sleeping pills..It also might help if you have a couple vodkas.During the day it might help to drink redbull and take cold pills that have psudoephedrine in them.

For me, it is obvious. I have elderly parents and I am going back to my state tomorrow. I can't sleep when I need to. I am listening to adivise.
We all do seem to have problems. To me, it seems to be incomperable to people w/problems bigger than mine, such as soldiers who are overseas. etc. I take a glass of wine and just try to relax -- we cannot change the world, but we can change how we feel at the moment. Take care.
it might not necessarily be depression that causing your problems..
I personally suffer from sleep apnea.. which in turn can cause depression among many other things..
Basically with sleep apnea your throat relaxes so much that your air way closes and you can't breath.. You don't know it's happening because your sleeping, but it prevents you from entering deep sleep.. so your not getting the rest your body and brain require..
But the good news is that it's easily diagnosed and there are a few options for treatment.. talk to a doctor and schedule to have a sleep study done..
it has done wonders for me, the difference is night and day.. Relax, Relax, Relax! I have this to, my doctor put me on wellbutrin, it is to help you stop smoking, I don't smoke but the great side affect is it fights depression. At night I to have trouble falling asleep, my mind will not shut down, I worry & worry about stuff that I can't do anything about. As life goes all, the stuff I've worried about over the years always took care of itself!! So now about 7:00 pm I start telling my mind to relax, watch a funny show (never a scary one) before bedtime. Get out of the house and walk around in the yard, sit in quite peaceful room or porch, take a drive to get an ice cream cone at the drive through and just think of good things. Look at the birds, and bugs. They probably worry about stuff too like building a nest, finding food for thier babys, the bugs are scurrying around gathering food, pollenating, they walk many miles carrying stuff 10 times bigger than themselves. Watching them is almost like meditation. We have to get out of the daily rut & think of something besides our lives and whats wrong with them!! Life is indeed to short for that, everything seems so much better after a good nights sleep. Try putting cotton in your ears, it blocks out noise, think about how soft your pillow is and how much you want to lay your head on it & sleep! My Aunt Unice turned 1oo on Thanksgiving last year, yes 100, but the most amazing thing is she still has her chickens and garden, the boys work it but she picks it and even cans it. That is my inspiration somtimes if she can still keep going at that age , then WHAT THE HELL AM I COMPLAINING ABOUT?
