sinus surgery?

Question:
I am going to have sinus surgery in 2 weeks, plus they are removing a polyp. Has anyone had this, does it hurt?? The dr told me i would be off work a week!! Did it help??

Answers:
i know three people that have had it, all were very happy with it. it does hurt the first day after, but gets better very fast. you are only off work that long because you need to rest your head for it to heal, not because it really hurts that long. follow the docs orders for saline, etc in the aftercare it works wonders! good luck to you you will feel much better 3 weeks from now... ; )

Other Answers:
In general, if you have polyps that persist even after medication.surgical removal is usually worthwhile to improve nasal symptoms. If sinus is approached through an incision under the upper lip through the gum, a procedure called a Caldwell-Luc operation.Patients can usually leave the hospital the day of surgery, with mild pain and swelling. More rest can help healing.
