How do I regain a healthy bladder afters its been stretched for years?

Question:
As a child I had trouble controlling my bladder to "go" when I was supposed a.k.a. to my family and schools preferred scedules and lifestyles. As a result to comply I forced myself to hold off unrination for several hours sometimes a day, this stretched my bladder. I'm now 20 ,follow safer bladder control (I go whenever I have a chance to) and have a pouch over the area my bladder is and would like to know what can be done (if there is treatment for it) to reshrink my bladder to a more healthy size/norm.

Answers:
After a while of you going when you have to, it should shrink back to its original size before being stretched. Just dont hold it in. (10 points?)

Other Answers:
Do kengal (sp?) excersizes. Contract and hold your vaginal muscles.

keggal exercises Prescription Detrol (gotta go gotta go commercials) which stop the bladder spasms which make you feel like you have to go, and kegle exercises. Also when urinating deliberately stop yourself from continuining to urinate and then keep doing it letting a small amount each time, it will teach your bladder proper control.

Is it there all the time? You have a little fat pad over your bladder also, since we all do and it always feels a little squishy there. When your bladder is full, it is deeper inside the pelvis and feels tight like a distended balloon. When you really have to go next time, lie down and see if you can feel over the top and a bit around the sides of the balloon.pressing makes you really feel like you have to use the bathroom. Collect this urine and measure the volumn. 350 cc (about 10 ounces) is average voiding and 500 or more is maybe a flacid bladder. About every 5 years or so almost every cell in your body is replaced, so you get new bladder tissue every day. If your volume for a single voiding is too large, start voiding more often..Set a timer and go. When voiding wait a while and attempt to void all over again. There should be very little left. Massage the area and try again. This is the exercise you seem to be asking about. The bladder is just another muscle so it can be exercised and toned like any other muscel. Good luck.
