Airborne tablets?
Question:
Answers:
a lot of people swear to the death that they work, but to my knowledge none of the ingredients in them are proven to really do much so i dont recommend them. its just a bunch of vitamins and a couple herbs ive never heard of. colds usually last a couple days and people take them, the cold goes away in a couple days then they run and telll all of their friends THE AIRBORNE GOT RID OF MY COLD! or they try it and dont get sick for awhile and then think its because the airborne worked. zinc supplements are pretty much the only thing that has any evidence to back it up for helping or shortening a cold, and the evidence is weak and its effectiveness is very mild and i stress mild (vitamin C does as well but only if you are under extreme physical stresses doesnt do much for the average person)
and their selling point is that the mixture was made by a second grade teacher (not that teachers are bad people but id rather have a Ph.Ds in biochemistry or pharmacology formulate my medications, and have 2nd grade teachers show me how to finger paint...)
I used to work in a pharmacy and the pharmacist used to always say how people would buy anything. All Airborne is is a bunch of vitamins in a tablet. Take a multivitamin and you will get the same effect. All the vitamins do is help build your immune system when you are sick (or getting sick) but it does not necessarily eliminate you from getting sick all together. I don't think they work, people just buy into what they believe. I would go to your local pharmacy and buy medicines associated with your symptoms and if they continue, I would see a doctor.
If you have a virus, NOTHING you take can get rid of it, you just have to ride it out. Medicines will help cloak symptoms, but a virus stays in your body for a designated time.
