Green teas contain caffeine. No, it does not relax you. It contains anti-oxidants that are known to prevent cancer. You have to drink A LOT to get even close to any meaningful amount though.
it is said to be really good for you. i have to agree, i've been drinking it for a while and it seems my body feels better than before i started.
i'm not sure it's relaxing for people who are sensitive to caffeine(it's more energizing) because it contains some of it in its leaves but i'm sure the one's without caffeine are relaxing.
they're good for you because they contain anti-oxidants that can provide a general prevention against cancer and i've been told it flush toxins out of their bodies. It's also said to benefit the five vital organs and benefit many other diseases (see source) however, the reviews are mixed.
nonetheless, it a good chance to take to reap some healthy benefits; it's a definately better way to wake up to than coffee.
Tea is full of anti-oxidents. Black tea (i.e. Lipton) is strong-flavored and fermented. Green tea is just dried tea, weaker tasting than black. White tea is made with young leaves.
too much green tea will keep you awake at night. I had my New Year's Eve guests drink several pots one eve as alcohol was not allowed. One man mentioned that he felt a buzz like caffeine. Later i found that there is a component in Jasmine green tea which can do this. I have used green tea for over 30 years. I believe this tea prevented the build-up of plaque in my arteries. I had the condition of diabetes (it is gone now due to going green in my eating). Diabeties gernerally creates huge amounts of cholesterol and high blood pressure. I am 56 and didn't have either condition due to green tea. It is an antioxidant with superlative results. if having a nice hot cup of tea is relaxing...then it is...however, i never used it to relax me as it has a bit of natural caffeine like component
Green tea does contain caffeine, but it also contains an enzyme that neutralises the effects of caffeine. It has high levels of antioxidants and essential nutrients and minerals. The effect of this is a feeling of rehydration, replenishment and a boost of both neurological and immunological strength. This can easily be misinterpreted as a relaxant (relief) to someone deficient, when in fact it is an energiser. Final verdict: Green tea is a fantastic drink, far better than black tea and infinitely better than coffee for the body, but as with all things it must be used in moderation as part of a balanced diet. Anything taken in excess can be fatal, even air, water, knowledge, anything.
