Does Claritin ever stop working?

Question:
Do allergy medicines ever stop working? Anyone ever had this problem with Claritin?

Answers:
Yes, you can become tolerant to meds. When you take Claritin, it's not getting rid of whatever you're allergic to, it's keeping your immune system from fighting it off, which is where your symptoms are originating. Your immune system can build up a tolerance over time to a certain drug so that it can then again perform it's "job" of fighting off the allergens.

You can try a different OTC med, or an herbal supplement like echinacea, zinc, or stinging nettle.

Other Answers:
I actually find Claritin better than Allegra. Building up a tolerance to a certain medication happens.
yes
