getting rid of hiccups?

Question:
I found something that actually worked. I suffer from very painful hiccups and I have never found anything that works until I read something that a man on this site posted. He said take a deep breath hold it and push our while holding your breath. He said hiccups are caused by a muscle above your lungs freaking out and the muscle needs to have a break. So take a deep breath hold it and push our really hard. I was willing to try anything at this point. I think all the drinking water counting to ten sip this drink that stuff is crap. The guy that wrote this one that worked for me is awesome. Don't try the others until you have tried this one first. You will not be dissapointed. I REALLY TRULEY worked for me. Beleive me my hiccups have haunted me for years. They are loud and painful. They ruin whatever fun I am having at the time when they decide to show up. PLEASE try this it works. I am so happy, I will always use this method. Remember everyone is different. Give it a chance.

Answers:
Yes this does work, but you must make sure you are holding your breath and pushing out while a hiccup occurs. I've been using this method for 25 years and it has never failed me. Usually it works on the first attempt but three attempts is the most I have ever had to do.

Someone taught me this method almost 30 years ago. It helps to attempt to continue taking air in without letting any out. Some will naturally dissipate, so I take a back-up gulp of air every few seconds. This is the all time greatest hiccup cure I've ever heard of!
that muscle is called the diaphragm
