The Vaccination Hoax

The anthrax vaccine given to service members is the same vaccine that has been used by veternarians and other people working with leathers, hides and animals for at least two decades now. Although the immunization has not been proven safe to give to a pregnant woman, immunizations given to the father of the child would have no effect on the developing child. The anthrax vaccination is also just a one time shot- so I am curious why he would have recieved "a lot" of them. As a service member, you do get many immunizations, but only a few are part of a series, and those series are usually only required to be taken one time. The hepatitis vaccines are a 3 shot series, as are some of the vaccinations given to infants and other previously unimmunized persons. To my knowledge, none of the immunizations have any effect on a fetus unless given to the mother during pregnancy- certainly not if it's the father getting the shots. The only immunization they don't like to give if you are in close contact with an expectant woman is rubella- because it is a live virus injection, and there is a small chance the person getting the shot will develop a mild case of rubella (German measles). As most people in the US are immunized against this in childhood, it is not a real concern in the US. If you are really concerned about this, though, I would urge you to discuss the matter with your OB. He will have access to much more detailed information than I can possibly give you here. But of all the things you need to be concerned about while you are pregnant, I don't think this one needs to be a concern to you.
