Recenty Blood tests show RDW of 15.4 which I know is high. What does this mean and what can you do for it?

Question:

Answers:
RDW means Red blood cells Distribution Width. you have it at 15.4, whichi isn't very high, just a bit. It means that your red blood cells are varied in size, more tha usual (Normal RDW 11-13). It could be for any number of reasons, you're anemic, your Vitamin B intake is low, you're low on iron, or even a more sirious disease. Go see your doc, he'll read the whole test and if needed he'll send you more tests, or just a pill. With just your RDW there isn't much I can tell you. Good Luck
