Why does my arm bleed more right above my wrist than farther up?

Question:
And it's definitely not just a matter of how deep the cut is - believe me, I've cut myself enough times to notice a pattern.

Answers:
Veins closer to surface. Hey do you have to hide the scars? or are they not noticable?

Other Answers:
stop cutting yourself. seek help.
capillaries are closer to the surface at wrists, ankles and your scalp...
It sounds like it's cut right near a pulse point which would throb and therefore cause more blood to come out.
why is cutting so trendy? seriously, used to be hardly no one did it--and they still had problems/bad lives/issues--now it's all anyone talks about/does. imagine 20 years from now when all the little kids think it's normal for everyone's mommies and daddies have scars all over from cutting. which is just going to make those kids have problems, to know that mommy or daddy used to or still does this all the time. i can see it now, little bobby, running after his ball, almost gets hit...and after making sure he is safe, his parents leave him alone because they can't cope with how stressful that just was for them and have to go cut. while little bobby wonders why his parents don't love him enough to keep hugging him instead... or maybe little bobby is just going to ask what all those scars are...so do you tell him or you lie to your kid. great role model, either way.
its cut right near ur veins and artiries and they are shallow there so the blood is circulating closer to the surface.
Simple physics. The higher you elevate your wound the less it will bleed because more pressure is required from the heart to pump it out. The lower the wound is the less pressure is required to pump blood out.
its because of the veins and the thickness of your skin.... the reason most people cut themselves on the wrists than other places is because thats where it bleeds best... if you cut it on your stomach , ankels or legs it bleeds alot less.
