Well, that's debatable, lawyers make hay while the sun shines out of asbestos claims, but at the end of the day, you're gonna die of something anyway. A better question would be if you were knowingly exposed to it, or how much of it, for how long, are you suffering from it, or were you just in the same zip code as some asbestos, and trying to ride a health claim? Hmmm..
It depends on what kind of asbestos you were exposed to. If it was particles in the air (like if someone was breaking up asbestos tile or insulation) it puts you at a slight risk, if you inhaled it directly.
But, most cases of asbestos-related health issues are among people who are exposed to a lot of it (like installers or removers without protective gear.) Your risk increases with the amount you've been exposed to and your smoking status. (If you smoke, I think it is about 5 times more likely to have an adverse health outcome.)

Depending on your exposure, you might want to talk to your doctor about it.
It has to be constant exposure over at least a year. I've seen many x-rays from coal miners to see the damage that it can do.

If you have tight feelings in your chest and a constant cough, then you need to be referred for an x-ray.

Good luck
The health risks of exposure are greater the longer you are exposed. The type of asbestos is also a factor. Insulation asbestos (like covering pipes in old houses) takes longer to cause health problems, whereas brake dust from working on automobile brake systems is inhaled more rapidly and more often. Asbestos exposure is also "cumulative" because it stays in your lungs once inhaled, so the more the exposure, the longer the exposure, the greater the health risk. Your age, general physical condition, and weather or not you have asthma or allergies can also be a significant factor.
Any amount of asbestos can have a negative effect on your health. It's a form of glass fibre, which when inhaled can puncture cell walls in the lungs, bronchi, trachia, throat, nasal passages, and mouth. Now, it can lead to cancer, or another degradative disease. It can also lead to bleeding in the lungs, and emphazema due to alvioli being destroyed. Now if you really feel like it's going to be a problem, then goto your doctor. Just remember, we all die, some sooner than others, you can only sue for how painful the trip toward the end is. Oh, and lost wages. If you are healthy enough though your lungs should be able to clean themselves out, as long as you aren't smoking. If you develope Mesothelioma then you know that the asbestos is to blame, and you can sue the former owner for not telling you your property had asbestos in it, so long as he knew that much, and you must prove he knew.
