Answers:
For your back pain - use a large exercise ball. Make sure you sit up straight. Is it really a disc problem? If not, lie flat on your back and bend your knees so that your feet are flat on the floot. Lift up your midsection and hold it there to a count of 10. Repeat as many times as possible.

I took time to answer the question about salt maps and then it went into voting. Here is my answer to that too:

When I was in the 4th grade we made 3-D relief maps from "salt dough". The students need to discuss the meanings of the terms relief map, topologic map, geographic map, political map, elevation, distance, legend or key, mountain, mountain range, moutain ridge, mountain peak, foothills, hill, plain, plateau, tableland, coastline, peninsula, valley, forest, desert, river, tributary, lake and any other terms not mentioned that need to be used.

Salt maps are heavy so use very heavy cardboard or masonite. A popsicle stick makes a good tool (toothpicks break). Orangewood cuticle stick is ideal. Make a ball and then mold into a mountain. Use a white background. Draw water with marker. For a neat-looking coastline draw parallel blue lines with a ruler at 90 degrees to the vertical of the map extending about 1.5 inches (or use college-ruled paper cut-out).

Recipe for Homemade Air Dry Salt Dough
Making your own homemade salt dough is easy and fun!

There are several variations to making salt dough. Some liken it to making a pie crust — find a recipe you like and stick to it or adapt your own recipe. To get you started, here's a basic salt dough recipe we like.

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 cup cold water
(you can add oil and cream of tartar to make it more like Play Doh)
(you can add vanilla to make it smell nice and keep away mold)

Directions:
In a large bowl, mix table salt and flour together. Gradually add 1/2 cup of water and mix to desired consistency. Knead the dough on a flat surface, adding a few more drops of water as needed (but not making it too moist).

Once the dough is made, you can divide it up into small portions to roll into 1/8" thick pieces with a rolling pin.

After the shapes dry, you can use a fine grit sandpaper to gently smooth any rough edges.

Baking Alternative
Instead of allowing the dough shapes to air dry, you can bake them in the oven at 200 degrees F until hard. Baking times varies depending on oven and dough thickness. Make sure the dough is completely baked. You can cover the dough with aluminum foil if it starts to darken before completely baked through.

Salt Dough Suggestions and Tips:
You can store salt dough in a sealed container in the refrigerator for a day or two before using.

Add color to the dough by mixing food coloring or paint into the water before adding it to the flour/salt mix. Alternatively, you can paint the finished baked dough with acrylic paint.

Painted objects should be sealed on all sides with polyurethane spray or clear varnish to make them lasting gifts or keepsakes.
