I got a flu & pneumonia shot 5 hrs ago. My arms swollen as big as my hand & its raised 1+ in. Is this normal?
Question:
Answers:
Sore and pain when you raise your arm is normal, swelling is not.
Be sure to get yourself checked out at your local ER or urgent care clinic.
Take care...
Edit to the person below me: How far are you in med school? Anaphylaxis (and get the spelling right - you have no excuse) is characterized by difficulty breathing, hypotension, and swelling of the airways. A swollen arm could be the beginning of anaphylaxis (I guess?) but without the difficulty breathing or the hypotension, it's just not. The person asking the question needs to get to an ER or emergency clinic ASAP, but it's probably a localized reaction, and not anaphylaxis. When you advertise yourself as a med student, the general public holds you up to a certain level of expertise. If you don't feel that you are up to that, don't tell people on these forums that you are a med student.
I would call the hospital and ask the casualty nurse if it's ok.
